Chris Cilfone is a marine naturalist based out of Maui. His passion for educating the public about marine conservation has brought him all over the United States. From collecting algae samples deep within the Inside Passage of Southeast Alaska to teaching the nation's youth about the ocean at a marine science camp in the Florida Keys, he has worked with people from all backgrounds. Blind-sided by the absolute beauty of the aloha state, Chris finally settled on the island of Maui. There he combined his passion for the ocean with his skills as a filmmaker and hasn't looked back since. His short films promoting ocean conservation and awareness have been featured everywhere from film festivals to online forums. Most recently he won the Ocean Geographic 2014 Picture of the Year Master of Competition award and is a finalist in this years’ Blue Ocean Film Festival taking place in Monaco. His infectious passion has influenced people from all over the world to think about their actions in regard to how they affect the ocean. He encourages everyone to continue to go green but always remember to Be Blue.
