Gary Peart is an adventurer, scuba diver, and photographer. Born in Yorkshire, England, Gary graduated from Lancaster University with a BA Honours in History. In 2007 he left the UK to travel and photograph the underwater world, the beginning of an adventure that continues to the present day.
Gary has volunteered on a marine conservation project in Latin America, managed a scuba diving resort on a small island off the west coast of Sumatra, and looked after the Grenadan Olympic team during the London 2012 Olympics. As well as being a PADI assistant Scuba Instructor, Gary is a certified ice diver, having dived in Lake Baikal in Siberia, and a qualified NAUI cave diver, exploring the Cenotes of Mexicos Yucatan Peninsula. Gary has spent hundreds of hours diving Indonesia’s incredible coral reefs seeking out the weird and wonderfully diverse macro world hidden amongst its 17,000 islands. Gary has also been privileged to dive with, and photograph, many of the ocean’s giants including whale sharks in Papua, humpback whales in Tonga, bull sharks in Fiji, hammerhead sharks in Costa Rica, southern right whales and the sardine run in South Africa.
